🙌👏 Alta Loma Christian School was named the Inland Empire’s Best Private School at the Best Of The Best Awards Gala on February 7, 2025, at the Riverside Convention Center.
It was the second-consecutive year that ALCS has been honored with the award.
Pastor and school board chair, Mike Collins; head of school, Dr. Vance Nichols; and Mrs. Carol Nichols represented ALCS at the formal event. The school was congratulated by Rancho Cucamonga mayor, L. Dennis Michael, and his staff, who were present for the awards ceremony, along with Rancho Cucamonga Chamber of Commerce president, Mark Guirguis, who was also in attendance. Mr. Guirguis’ Homemasters International was named the IE’s Best in Home Remodeling at the gala.
“It’s not often I get a hug from the mayor, the chamber president, Pastor Mike, and my wife, all in the same evening,” laughed Dr. Nichols. “It was a very special night for ALCS.”
In his acceptance speech on behalf of the school, Dr. Nichols praised the Lord, as well as the teachers and staff members of ALCS for their exceptional efforts to recover from the January windstorms, while also reaching out to others with even greater needs due to the resulting catastrophic fires in the Los Angeles area. Dr. Nichols’ description of the work of teachers and staff drew an ovation from those in attendance.
The Best Of The Best Awards are presented to winners in over 30 categories by Inland Empire Magazine as determined by its publisher, editorial board, readership, and subscribers.
“It is not often that a private Christian school has an opportunity to shine and share in front of so many leading business, civic, political, medical, fashion, and educational influencers,” said Dr. Nichols. “For ALCS to be honored along with them in this setting and to share a little bit of our story with them, that is a huge and rare blessing from the Lord.”
Nine schools from nine different cities and three counties throughout the IE were nominated for the Best Private School award.
