Chosen Girls – The Bridge
Chosen Girls is open to all girls in 6th-8th grade. This weekly time of fellowship is led by Mrs. Martinez, who leads discussions and activities that are focused on learning how to be young Christian ladies in today’s society. Beginning September 3 (which is for both students AND parents), Chosen Girls will meet every Wednesday from 3:00-4:00 p.m. in Room 15.
Chosen Girls costs $70 for the school year (the first half is due at the first meeting, and the second half is due by January 14). This is a great experience for our young ladies, as it provides them with a Christian perspective about what it means to be a lady. If you are interested, please download the Chosen Girls flyer or contact Mrs. Martinez for more information.
Similar to Chosen Girls, The Bridge is a place for middle school boys to build friendship and mentorship around Jesus. The Bridge meets from 2:50-4:00 p.m. on every first and third Friday of the month (except on minimum and special event days) beginning Sept. 2, 2016, and is led by Coach Herrera. This year’s Bridge will journey through the book Living As a Young Man of God: An 8-Week Curriculum for Middle School Guys, aside from playing games and sharing snacks. Several outreach opportunities and outings are in the works, such as volunteer work at the Soup Kitchen, outreach at a local boys’ home, hikes with dads, a Christmas party, an outing to Skyhigh Trampoline Park, and an end-of-year swim and pizza party. The cost for the year is $60, which includes the book and all of the events. Please download The Bridge registration form and submit the bottom portion with payment to the office by Thursday, September 1, 2015, or contact Coach Herrera for more information.
“But you are not like that, for you are a chosen people. You are royal priests, holy nation, God’s very own possession. As a result, you can show others the goodness of God, for he called you out of the darkness into his wonderful light.” – 1 Peter 2:9–>
