Eagle Walk 2017 Donations Set New All-Time School Record

In case you’re keeping track of things that help prove that God exists, you can add Alta Loma Christian School’s Eagle Walk 2017 to that list.

Just 10 days before the annual Eagle Walk walk-a-thon, only $425 had been donated in gifts and pledges, a far cry from the $21,625 that students had raised the previous year, which had set a new walk-a-thon record.

“A lot of prayer and action and hard work by a lot of people took place, especially during that ten day period,” described ALCS Head of School, Dr. Vance Nichols. “Then the Lord and our kids and our partners and our staff really came through in amazing ways.”

And oh, what a difference those 10 days made!

With pledges and donations counted as of this past Thursday, students and partners had turned in $29,451 in gifts and pledges, setting a new Eagle Walk school record. The new amount shattered the old record of $21,625, which was set just last year.

“Exceeding our record by nearly $8,000 is truly remarkable,” expressed Dr. Nichols. “We are very, very blessed to have families and businesses and others in our school family and community who support the great work that the Lord and our teachers are doing together here at ALCS. Their generosity is overwhelming.”

As a private Christian school, ALCS relies heavily on the donations raised through the Eagle Walk walk-a-thon for vital budgetary support, including initiatives detailed in ALCS’ five-year strategic plan, EagleVision 2022.

“Those funds will go to continue to support a unique, premier Christian school education unlike any other in our region,” said Dr. Nichols.

All individuals, families, or businesses that gave a gift of $250 or more during Eagle Walk 2017 (or have/will at any time during the 2017-2018 school year) qualify for ALCS’s EagleFund Wings of Distinction program, which recognizes the school’s financial partners at a special appreciation dinner in the spring.
